Custom lighting is not just about how a space looks. It is about how it feels, where it comes from, and the story it carries.
Wrench Marked Lighting was built on the Western Slope of Colorado out of necessity, grit, and a refusal to quit. What began as a way to survive became a way to create something meaningful. Every custom lamp and lighting fixture that leaves the shop carries that history with it.
A Career Built by Hand, Then Taken Away
For nearly two decades, Adam Gentzler worked in the electrical and water distribution industries. His life revolved around hard work, precision, and reliability. He knew the trade inside and out. His hands built systems meant to last.
Then everything stopped.
After being falsely accused of a crime, Adam was arrested and lost his job. Overnight, his career was gone. Doors closed. Calls went unanswered. Finding work in the industry he had dedicated his life to became impossible.
With no clear path forward and no safety net, Adam was left with a choice. Stay stuck in what was taken from him, or build something new with what he still had.
Building Custom Lighting From Spare Parts
With limited resources and a lot to prove, Adam began working out of his garage using spare parts, reclaimed materials, and the same tools he had relied on his entire career. There was no business plan. No funding. Just effort, focus, and long nights.
What started as a way to get by slowly turned into something deeper.
Each fixture carried intention. Each material had a past. Lighting stopped being a product and became a way to tell stories, preserve history, and turn hardship into something lasting.
That is how Wrench Marked Lighting was born.
Custom Lamps That Tell a Story
Today, Wrench Marked Lighting creates custom lighting and custom lamps designed to be conversation pieces. No mass production. No assembly line. Every piece is built by hand using real materials with real weight.
Adam works with clients to create one of a kind lighting using reclaimed metal, sentimental items, and pieces of family history. Old tools, ranch equipment, and forgotten materials are transformed into functional art meant to last for generations.
Each fixture is designed to be lived with, not replaced.
